This song is sort of a mix of country with some Jazz and folk and blues. It's actually quite interesting to me because it sounds very modern even though the genres I just named originated a long time ago.

Ahh they are playing where I live tomorrow, and I am not seeing them because it is a school night and I am going to a concert Tuesday night (Beirut) which is also a school night so they do not want to me to go to two concerts in one week. Ermm they're annoying. I really would have liked to see them, but I am not too angry because I am seeing a screening for the new George Harrison documentary that is going to be released soon, and I am so excited because George is my favorite Beatle. Breed (1992 Live at Reading)- Nirvana

Considering that twenty years and five days ago Nirvana release their spectacular album that shook and changed music forever, Nevermind, I thought it would be appropriate to blog about a song from the record. Now, if you like Nirvana as much as I do and read plenty of music blogs and magazines, then you know what everyone has been saying. Let's face it anyone that has good taste in music knows how Nevermind was a special record. You are aware how people say "everyone was into Nirvana" and "it came at the right time" and a million other things, so I am not going to go on and on about how important it is. I love every single song on it and in honor of the release, I am posting one of my favorite songs from Nevermind, (though I really do love them all). Also, on Tuesday I bought the Nevermind Super-Deluxe Edition, which in my opinion is fantastic. It comes with 4 CD's including the original remastered version of the album as well as a DVD of their legendary gig, Live at the Paramount, which is my second favorite Nirvana gig that has been recorded (1992 Reading comes first), though very few have been recorded.... It sounds amazing on vinyl and I listen to it too much. It also comes with a 90 page book with amazing photos that even I have never seen, and before I bought it I thought that I have seen nearly every Nirvana/Kurt Cobain photo that has ever been released on the internet. Anyways, if you are a fan, I suggest you buy it. I love this song, particularly the Live at Reading version because when Kurt begins to sing you can hear the roar of the crowd in the background, this was the opening song of the night. I think it is funny sort of that they thought this was going to be their worst gig ever, according to Dave Grohl! Here is the an article explaining it.

I think the long guitar solo that lasts through most of the song is amazing. I love the melody. I love this entire song and every aspect of it. I find the extremely long opening great and just wonderful. I love his voice as well.

Review on My Morning Jacket Concert

I am so so sorry this took so long for me to post. I saw them July 2nd or 3rd, I think.... :/ So I was on vacation for the 4th of July weekend and my dad's friend said do you know this band? I said, yes. She then replied, do you want to see them in concert with me tomorrow? I couldn't say no, because it is not like I had anything else to do. I was on vacation in a small town with my parents. So I went, and I knew of My Morning Jacket and few of there songs, but I would not call myself a fan. I went and it was definitely enjoyable and better than being at home. I really did enjoy some of their songs, but not enough to listen to at home. I would really only rate this concert 5/10 (Average) but I am going to rate them 5.5/10 because I really love them members of the band. It was so interesting to see them play live because out of all the bands I have ever seen in concert, they were the ones who appeared to be to most passionate about what they do and the music they played. It was just really eye-opening because you could physically see that they really loved what they did, by the way they played, their small gestures and looks they gave on stage and their personality as well. I am not saying that all the other bands I have seen in concert do not have passion for their music, they just translated it to the audience really well in my opinion. It was also kind of funny, the lead singer,  Jim James had all these funny gadgets that he would change around throughout the show. He had one around is neck and it was electronic and then he had this keyboard like thing, I don't know it's kind of hard to explain, it was just really funny. I rate it 5.5/10

Fall Creek Boys Choir

Fall Creek Boys Choir- Bon Iver, James Blake

When I heard that they were collaborating to make a song, I was so excited because I love Bon Iver and James Blake so much. I think it is quite interesting because I was reading some reviews of it recently and a lot of people say that their musical styles are so different, and I do agree that they are different, but I do not think they are like opposite ends of the spectrum as some people seem to make it out to be. I think both of their music has this melodic feel to it. It took me a couple of listens before I got into it, and I do like it and it did live up to my expectations which is fantastic, but at the same time it didn't. It is exactly what you expect, which is my only problem with it, I mean it is a great collaboration, but I was hoping I would love it just as much (if not more) as I expected but it wouldn't be as I expected. Sorry if that doesn't really make sense or is worded odd.

Money

This is from their new album, Portamento, and I who am personally not a huge fan of The Drums really likes it. My expectations for this album was not too high because I only liked a couple songs from their last album. On this album there are some songs that I just love and their are others that are sort of 'whatever' to me. Parts of this song reminds me of Joy Division, but not the lyrics or his voice. I think the music video is quite interesting, in a good way.

Broken Bone

Broken Bone- Iceage

I love the beat to there music. Their album, New Brigade is my favorite album at the moment, all the songs on their are fantastic! I am so happy someone decided to bring punk back and do it right! If you don't like punk, I would give this song and this band a chance, I really do not see how anyone could hate them, regardless if you love punk or absolutely despise it.

We Bros

We Bros- Wu Lyf

Adore this song. I am very interested as to what this band will do next, definitely a band to watch!

Middle Management

Middle Management- Bishop Allen

This song is from the soundtrack to one of my favorite movies, Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist. The whole entire soundtrack is amazing and you should really look it up! The link is to a live performance and the quality isn't too bad.

Georgia

Georgia- Big Troubles

The opening of the song reminds me of The Raveonettes. The lead singers voice sounds nothing like Sune or Sharin, nor does the rest of it. I just think the first 20 or so seconds sounds like them except it is more upbeat and playful. It also reminds me a bit of Best Coast because how the lead singers voice fades in and out so smoothly. I really like songs like this because the music sort of overpowers the voice, and when it is done well, it is amazing, but when done poorly it is just so not good. The photo above is not Big Troubles, but I just like the setting and I think it matched nicely with the song.

Bigmouth Strikes Again by The Smiths (And Me Rambling About Bands I Will Never See In Concert)

Bigmouth Strikes Again- The Smiths

It's debatable, but this might be my favorite song by The Smiths. Errmmmm, so hard to choose. I have all their songs ever released for download, and I love them all, so clearly it's saying a lot if this is my favorite (very debatable though). I really do love how Morrissey says "bigmouth ladadada" and "bigmouth hohohohohaha"

I really wish I could see them in concert. I might have said this before, but if I could see two bands in concert that aren't around anymore, it would definitely be Nirvana and The Smiths, and considering the amount of bands that I love that do not play/ deceased member/ just aren't around anymore that I love, it just says that I really love The Smiths and Nirvana.

Other bands I love that I will never see play:

The Beatles, The Who, The Ramones, Joy Division, The Sex Pistols, The Replacements, Janis Joplin, Neutral Milk Hotel, The Mamas & The Papas, The Adverts, Jimi Hendrix, etc.

Then there are some others that I have a slim-to-none chance of seeing.  Arg this is making me angry. This has nothing to do with The Smiths, this last part. Sorry.
