Joy Division's most popular song is probably, Love Will Tear Us Apart, with good reason of course because it is one of the best songs ever recorded. To pick my favorite song by Joy Division is impossible because they have so many great songs. Ice Age, is one of my favorite songs by Joy Division, and although it is not on their most loved album, Unknown Pleasures, (although Closer is also highly loved and amazing), this song is from a compilation album, with overall average ratings, this song is fantastic.

Today Your Love, Tomorrow the World- The Ramones

I was just listening to this song, and I realized the beginning bass and guitar chords song EXACTLY like Joy Division. Of course, The Ramones came first (duh), but I can see how Joy Division was influenced by them, maybe not directly, but they were probably influence by someone who was influenced by The Ramones. It might have been just directly though. I love the first half of this song so so much, the second half is good to but the first half is amazing.

Money- The Drums

This is from their new album, Portamento, and I who am personally not a huge fan of The Drums really likes it. My expectations for this album was not too high because I only liked a couple songs from their last album. On this album there are some songs that I just love and their are others that are sort of 'whatever' to me. Parts of this song reminds me of Joy Division, but not the lyrics or his voice. I think the music video is quite interesting, in a good way.

I am stunned that I have never done an official post about this song considering it is the second most played song in my music library. This song is hands down one of the best songs of all time. It's a classic.

Moving To New York- The Wombats

The lyrics are funny and ironic. I love The Wombats lyrics, not just in this song, but all of them. They are very funny and clever. See, he says "So I'm moving to New York cause I've got problems with my sleep." And as I think most of you know, New York is known as the city that never sleeps. I don't know I just find that funny. Anyway, what was I saying? Oh yes, I love their lyrics. In their song 'Let's Dance To Joy Division', They say 'So let the love tear us apart', and if you know Joy Division one of their best and most popular is called 'Love Will Tear Us Apart'. Anyway, I just find them funny and amusing, in a good way! I love The Wombats....and Joy Division! By the way I am going to New York tomorrow!

Disorder- Joy Division

I am in love with this song. It has an older feel to it because Joy Division is an old band but this is from there album 'Unknown Pleasures'. I am also a tad obsessed with the lead singer, Ian Curtis. Not nearly as bad as my obsession with Kurt Cobain, but I just really like Ian Curtis's voice and his persona. I really love when bands/musicians/artists mix a really fun, happy beat with these depressing, sad melancholy lyrics, which is exactly what Joy Division does in this song.

I love bands where you can here their accents through their songs.

Kate Nash, Foals, The Wombats, Arctic Monkeys (sometimes), and that's all I can think of off the top of my head.....but most bands where you can hear their English accents through their songs I love.

I also do love Joy Division.
