Bigmouth Strikes Again- The Smiths

It's debatable, but this might be my favorite song by The Smiths. Errmmmm, so hard to choose. I have all their songs ever released for download, and I love them all, so clearly it's saying a lot if this is my favorite (very debatable though). I really do love how Morrissey says "bigmouth ladadada" and "bigmouth hohohohohaha"

I really wish I could see them in concert. I might have said this before, but if I could see two bands in concert that aren't around anymore, it would definitely be Nirvana and The Smiths, and considering the amount of bands that I love that do not play/ deceased member/ just aren't around anymore that I love, it just says that I really love The Smiths and Nirvana.

Other bands I love that I will never see play:

The Beatles, The Who, The Ramones, Joy Division, The Sex Pistols, The Replacements, Janis Joplin, Neutral Milk Hotel, The Mamas & The Papas, The Adverts, Jimi Hendrix, etc.

Then there are some others that I have a slim-to-none chance of seeing.  Arg this is making me angry. This has nothing to do with The Smiths, this last part. Sorry.

I originally thought that I didn't like the Dum Dum Girls at all, because they did a cover of 'There Is A Light That Never Goes Out' by The Smiths, and I hated it, but then I realized I think I would dislike anyone who tried to do a cover of any of The Smith's songs. In my opinion no one can ever sing a song by The Smiths and do a better job than Morrissey, it's just completely impossible. But my friend and I were talking about them and she played me this song by them and I realized it's not that bad, then later I realized it's pretty good. If you like Best Coast or The Like, I think you will like this song. Part of this song really reminds me of The Like, maybe it's because they are an all-girl band, and parts really remind me of Best Coast, and honestly I have no idea why.

How Soon Is Now?- The Smiths

Definitely one the greatest song ever written, also one of The Smiths more popular songs. Genius. I was just reading this thing on Morrissey on this website for the magazine NME. Morrissey's 50 most memorable quotes. I love it. Morrissey is definitely one on my favorite lyricists ever. In this song the lyric "I am human and I need to be loved just like everybody else does," really stands out to me. I am not entirely sure why but I just find the lyric to have this melancholy beauty to it.
