At the moment, this is my favorite song by The Smiths. I still listen to them, so it changes all the time, but currently this is it. I think Morrissey's lyrics (though as usual) are really at his best in this song.

It's debatable, but this might be my favorite song by The Smiths. Errmmmm, so hard to choose. I have all their songs ever released for download, and I love them all, so clearly it's saying a lot if this is my favorite (very debatable though). I really do love how Morrissey says "bigmouth ladadada" and "bigmouth hohohohohaha"

I really wish I could see them in concert. I might have said this before, but if I could see two bands in concert that aren't around anymore, it would definitely be Nirvana and The Smiths, and considering the amount of bands that I love that do not play/ deceased member/ just aren't around anymore that I love, it just says that I really love The Smiths and Nirvana.

Other bands I love that I will never see play:

The Beatles, The Who, The Ramones, Joy Division, The Sex Pistols, The Replacements, Janis Joplin, Neutral Milk Hotel, The Mamas & The Papas, The Adverts, Jimi Hendrix, etc.

Then there are some others that I have a slim-to-none chance of seeing.  Arg this is making me angry. This has nothing to do with The Smiths, this last part. Sorry.

I swear, every song by The Smiths is good. They never ever disappoint me (I am still discovering songs by them so that is why I put it in present tense, yes I know they broke up in the 80's and have not been together since).

How Soon Is Now?- The Smiths

Definitely one the greatest song ever written, also one of The Smiths more popular songs. Genius. I was just reading this thing on Morrissey on this website for the magazine NME. Morrissey's 50 most memorable quotes. I love it. Morrissey is definitely one on my favorite lyricists ever. In this song the lyric "I am human and I need to be loved just like everybody else does," really stands out to me. I am not entirely sure why but I just find the lyric to have this melancholy beauty to it.

I think there are some lyrics in this song that are so deep and fantastically, beautiful.

1). "I decree that life is simply taking and not giving"

and although I ended up with sore lips

The first one, in my opinion is true.The second one is a fact we must face though it can be hard, we must move on from "old dreams". The third is a great question. Number four, makes me sad. It reminds me of the book, Catcher In the Rye. I don't know if you have read it or not, but the main character, Holden, he doesn't really like change, in general, even tiny changes. He talks about going to the Natural History Museum and he states (these aren't his exact words, I am just paraphrasing)Each time you go back it is different, your buddy from before might not be there, it could be rainy out, and different people, different clothes. It cannot be the same again. No matter how hard one may try, they can never recreate a moment to make it as the same and special as the original one. The last one, the fifth one I find it to be very sad and sometimes true and sometimes untrue, I guess it depends on the mood I am in.

I really like this song. It is a really short song (only 1:52) but if it was longer, I wouldn't like it as much. It has a really nice melody to it. The Smiths have been around for a long time, and I do like some of there other songs, but this is one of my favorites.
